Since AT&T has more spectrum clustered together now, it's possible that they could beat Verizon to a faster-than-LTE "5G" network. With all that spectrum clustered nicely in the same range, they could easily test a "5G" network in a wide range of possible frequencies. This could speed up their progress toward the next generation of cellular signals.
